Selenium is a mineral that is important for reproduction, thyroid gland function, DNA production, and protecting the body from damage caused by free radicals and from infection.

For supplementation, we prefer "high selenium yeast" as the source, which are nutritional yeast that are high in selenium concentrations.  The form is more absorbable and is better tolerated than other forms of selenium.
