Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use collagen?
Protein is one of our Vital 5 - the nutrients almost everyone would benefit from, even those with great diets. Collagen is a great, inexpensive and special source of protein.
The modern American diet is almost devoid of collagen-rich foods such as bone broth or organ meats.
Woodstock Vitamins Collagen Peptides is an inexpensive way to meet daily protein goals while adding the unique nutrient, collagen, to our diets.
What’s the difference between collagen and protein?
Collagen is a protein. Collagen is a special protein, though, because it has a unique amino acid profile and a unique structure or shape.
Collagen-rich foods have been shown to support healthy GI tracts, joints, hair, skin, and nails, where regular proteins may not have that same benefit.
Who will benefit from taking Woodstock Vitamins Collagen Peptides?
Everyone! Many of us don’t eat enough protein, and so very few of us have a diet rich in collagen.
How much collagen do I need every day?
We need enough protein to meet macronutrient goals. This is based on your age, gender, height, and weight. Speak to one of our experts for guidance on your specific protein intake goals.
In general, a single serving (18 g) of Collagen Peptides is a great supplement to a healthy diet.
How does it taste?
Collagen Peptides has a completely neutral flavor, which means it doesn’t really taste like anything, and that’s good!
People worry it’s going to taste like beef but it doesn’t. I’ve got lots of great reviews to back that up.
What’s the difference between collagen and collagen peptides?
Nothing! Collagen peptides are the smaller components of collagen.
Collagen is a protein composed of amino acids in a very unique sequence that gives it a completely different shape than other proteins.
What’s the difference between collagen and bone broth?
Collagen is one of the healthy nutrients found in bone broth.
I believe it’s best to supplement with just what you need. So skip the bone broth, and go right for Collagen Peptides.
Collagen Peptides gives you a more potent dose at a greater value than buying bone broth supplements.
How is this different from other collagen supplements?
The supplement industry is poorly regulated, and as a result, the products we buy are not what we think they are.
We thoroughly and almost obsessively research how a product should be made for the best health impact, then seek out ingredients to meet or exceed our standards.
We can confidently say our Collagen Peptides is one of the highest quality collagen peptides on the market, and we have the data to back that up.
What makes Woodstock Vitamins Collagen Peptides the best option for me?
Collagen Peptides meets our incredibly high standards by giving you everything you need and nothing you don’t.
We think a lot of other collagen products don’t get it right. Collagen supplements are a major supplement trend, and many brands are rushing products to the market to compete and capture profit, not make the best product they can.
Woodstock Vitamins is committed to cutting through the B.S. to bring you the best natural products under the highest possible level of scientific scrutiny. We are proud of Collagen Peptides, the standard of transparency it sets for the industry and the value it brings to you and your health!
I purchased this a little less than a week ago and am very pleased with it. I came across Neal’s blog about collagen peptides and how vital proteins was bought out by Nestle - I was going to buy the VP based on many thousands of excellent reviews before seeing reviewed post-acquisition declined horribly. So, thank you, Neal, for sharing that! The woodstock vitamin collagen is great. I discovered that using a whisk to mix it into my coffee made a big difference over using a spoon - with the spoon I could detect a flavor and smell (not bad, but I noticed it); but whisking it in, I don’t notice it at all! Excited to see the positive benefits over time.
Does not have a bad taste and makes a frothy smoothly.
I have been taking the collagen peptides unflavored power in my tea for about two weeks now and I do believe I feel less pain in my joints and hp when I am on long hikes or walks.
This stuff is great. It’s the 3rd brand we have tried and it’s the best so far.
But... why the warning that this product can expose you to chemicals including lead. Is it the plastic container...not happy about this.
I didn’t see that warning on the other 2 products we tested.
Disolves pretty well in hot coffee, thanks for the tip!
