All About Michael Daines

Dr. Michael Daines completed his undergraduate education at Texas A&M University and attended Medical School at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Allergy-Immunology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Daines held an Assistant Professorship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital prior to joining the Pediatric Pulmonary, Allergy and Immunology Division at the University of Arizona.He became division chief of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology at the University of Arizona in 2016.  

He is also the co-director for the Children’s Post infectious Autoimmune Encephalitis Center of Excellence at the University of Arizona, where he is engaged in clinical work, education, and teaching about autoimmune diseases and their impact on mood, movement, and behavior.

Michael Daines splits his time between research and clinic, with his research focusing on basic, translational, and clinical research in allergic, inflammatory, and autoimmune disease.  His clinical work includes being the director of the severe asthma program and a key member of the aero-digestive program at the University of Arizona.
